John appears in the 1911 Census of Ireland, residing at house #2 in Lissanly, Cloyne, East County Cork: Healy, John, 36, male.
**N.B.**
As an aside, regarding the marriage of David Dorgan and Elizabeth Ahern:
The marriage between Elizabeth Ahern and David Dorgan was arranged. Their parents were neighboring farmers: the Dorgan family owned property in Carrigkilter, and the Aherns owned land in Ballybraher.
Since Elizabeth and David did not have children of their own, they brought two relatives to their farm: Margaret Grahame, Elizabeth Ahern’s niece, and John Healy, David Dorgan’s nephew.
Margaret Grahame and John Healy’s marriage was also arranged and took place before they came to live with Elizabeth and David.
These arrangements ensured that the properties in Carrigkilter and Ballybraher remained within the family. Ironically, however, none of the five children from Margaret and John’s marriage married or had children.
As a result, the ancestral Dorgan property in Carrigkilter has been sold twice (as far as I can tell). Only the Ahern property at Ballybraher remains in the family and still retains its extensive land. These lands are now owned by the O’Brien family.
