Michael R. Dorgan shared that his mother had a distant aunt from Philadelphia. His parents may have stayed with them upon arrival. Additionally, his maternal grandmother was born in Philadelphia but lost both of her parents in the 1918 flu pandemic. She was sent back to Ireland.

CATHERINE M. (nee Walshe), March 11, 2013. Wife of the late Michael C. Mother of Nina Staller (Neil), Eileen Beck (Tom), Sheila McLaughlin (Bernie), and Michael (Michelle). Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and sister of Mary Abernethy, Theresa Cupit, and William Walshe. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Friday from 9 to 10:30 A.M. at the JOSEPH A. QUINN FUNERAL HOME, cor. Roosevelt Blvd. and Sanger St. Funeral Mass 11 A.M. St. Martin of Tours Church. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to WHYY Public Television, Independence Mall West, 150 N. 6th St., Phila., PA 19106 would be appreciated."
